Digital Wellness and Mental Health in the Era of Hybrid Work

Abstract:
The transition to hybrid work models—combining remote and on-site arrangements—has become a defining feature of the post-pandemic workplace. While digital technologies have enabled flexibility and continuity of work, they have also introduced challenges related to digital overload, blurred work-life boundaries, and increased risks of stress, anxiety, and burnout. The concept of digital wellness, which emphasizes balanced technology use, healthy work practices, and mental well-being, has therefore gained prominence as a critical area of research and practice. This paper explores the relationship between digital wellness and mental health in hybrid work environments. It reviews literature on the psychological impacts of remote work, the role of technology in shaping employee well-being, and organizational strategies for promoting digital wellness. Findings suggest that while hybrid work offers autonomy and reduced commuting stress, it also creates challenges such as constant connectivity, social isolation, and digital fatigue. The study proposes a conceptual framework linking digital wellness practices—such as boundary management, mindful technology use, and organizational support—to improved mental health outcomes in hybrid workplaces
